Raiona's work is grounded in more than a decade inside Africa's agricultural ecosystem. This experience is built from within the sectors and systems we now work across.
African agriculture employs more people, produces more food and supports more livelihoods than any other sector on the continent. Yet decision-makers across the value chain often work with less information than the sector deserves.
Raiona was founded on a simple conviction: that better intelligence, strategy and innovative technologies would help the institutions and enterprises driving Africa's agricultural future make sharper decisions, design stronger interventions, and unlock more of the sector's potential.
We believe effective agricultural systems are built through informed decision-making, operational visibility and practical coordination across value chains.
Our model combines three interconnected capabilities.
Market Intelligence & Research generates the analysis and evidence organizations need to understand markets, identify opportunities and make better decisions.
Advisory & Consulting translates intelligence into strategy, programme design, institutional strengthening and implementation support.
Technology & Infrastructure applies practical tools that improve visibility, traceability and coordination across value chains. DairyTrace is our first infrastructure platform, beginning with the dairy sector in Kenya.
Together, these capabilities allow us to move from insight to action and from strategy to implementation.

Every recommendation, publication and product decision is informed by credible research, operational understanding and sector knowledge.
Our analysis, advisory, convening and technology work are built to reinforce one another, connecting research with implementation and operational reality.
We work with organizations operating across agricultural markets, cooperatives, supply chains and the institutions that hold the sector together.
Our perspective is grounded in direct experience working across African agricultural institutions, markets and value chains. This depth of context shapes every engagement we take on.
Our work is designed for sustainability. We support our clients with the analysis, operational insight and practical frameworks and infrastructure that support stronger decision-making over time.
We maintain direct senior involvement throughout every engagement, combining strategic oversight with hands-on delivery to ensure quality, continuity and practical results.
We understand agricultural markets as interconnected systems. Our work considers the institutions, incentives, relationships and infrastructure that shape how value chains function over time.
Carol founded Raiona after more than a decade of working across Africa's agricultural institutions. She has served as Executive Director of the Eastern and Southern African Dairy Association (ESADA) and is the Africa Coordinator of the African Women in Animal Resources Farming and Agribusiness Network (AWARFA-N), leading regional platforms connecting industry practitioners, policymakers, financiers, and development partners across the continent.
Her engagements have spanned regional dairy strategy, value chain research, and multi-country programme delivery with organizations including AU-IBAR, EU-funded CTA, and the Royal Danish Embassy. A Bridge Africa Fellow (2024 and 2025), she brings depth in stakeholder engagement, public-private partnerships, regional trade, and high-impact programme delivery.
Raiona consolidates that experience into a firm built to deliver intelligence, advisory, and technology across African agriculture.
